I found the film immediately funny from the opening scene. I think it is Wes Anderson’s funniest film to date. The film contains all of Anderson’s stylistic trademarks. The acting was superb. Owen and Luke Wilson portray their signature comedic style. I can understand where the film could be labeled ‘art house’. The shot angles and colors were unconventional yet enticing. I thought the story was a bit convoluted and I had trouble keeping up. If I had to describe the film in one word it would be ‘ridiculous’. It’s ridiculous in a good way. The character names, the performances, the wardrobe and the dialogue were indeed ridiculous at times. These aspects were both creative and entertaining. I enjoyed the film and would see it again!
